A year ago I was at my heaviest. HEAVIEST. The heaviest without having the excuse of being pregnant, I guess. Sometimes you get carried away and not realize how much weight you've put on until there's a special event and a photographer present. It doesn't even need to be an actual photographer but just cameras in general are present! For me, it was a sweet sixteen celebration.
Once these pictures hit facebook I don't think I rushed to my account settings fast enough to find out how to "approve" all tags before all my fatness attacked my news feed. It was a real slap in the face and I realized what had happened. I stopped caring about myself. I put ALL my time, attention, energy into my daughter that I forgot about myself. There were so many new things happening at once it was just constantly adjusting to surroundings. It was then I realized there's never a good time. Things don't slow down. If anything, it goes faster! It's up to us now to keep up and git 'er done.
Luckily my husband was ready for a lifestyle change and having that support helped so much. We changed our eating habits and were each others lifelines. It's been a year now so I pulled that dress out of the back of the closet and did a do-over. I've lost 29lbs so far - I know for a fact that I could've lost more but I let evil take over for a couple months and sorta lost my momentum. Luckily, I didn't gain any weight during that time and was able to maintain my weight.
I'm looking forward to this year and eager to see new results!!!
